Not sure what to eat at 2pm or 5pm- M.F.M’s official fast- breaking times?
1. A popular food blog recently compiled ’21 healthiest fruits to eat in 2025. Making the list were the usual suspects of apples, oranges, strawberries, grapes, pineapple, watermelon, bananas, mango, and pears. But this period, explore other highly nutritious fruits such as pomegranates, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apricots, kiwis, dates, avocado, guava, olives, soursop, dragon fruit, and papaya. You can eat them whole or prepare as a fruit salad.
2. Another one to try is Greek yoghurt, simply because it can easily be transformed into parfaits or yoghurt bowls. Packed with calcium, protein, probiotics, iodine, and vitamin B12, it offers a wide range of benefits. According to Medical News Today, its benefits include building muscle mass, reducing appetite and hunger, boosting metabolism, reducing the risk of Type 2 diabetes, and improving gut health.
3. To rehydrate after fasting, water should be your fist choice as it helps regulate the body while preparing the digestive system for food . Other hydrating options are juices, herbal teas, milk, diet/zero sugar soda, olive oil, smoothies, soups, protein shakes, as well as coconut water.
4. Snacks are also a good option, but it’s important to avoid those that are high in sugar, fat, spice, or fiber. After a fast, your body needs gentle, easy-to-digest food options not ones that could trigger stomach upset, heartburn, indigestion, cramps, or acid reflux. Some popular options include nuts and seeds, eggs, stir fried vegetables, granola bars, fruits, light pastries such as meat pies, sausage rolls, or fish rolls, and noodles.
5. When you are ready to eat solid food, go for something nutritious, healthy, comforting, and energy releasing. Here, the options are endless as home cooked food is usually nutrient dense. Just remember to eat small portions throughout the eating window until its time to begin fasting again.
